Tuesday 5^th June

It was the queen's diamond jubilee today and we all sat and watched loads of it on TV. We could have gone into London, but the crowds would have been huge!!! So mum made us a picnic to have in the living room in front of the TV, and we had a really good time. We didn't have a street party, but we did have street rehearsals, and Mikey kept us working really hard!!

I can't believe the queen has been on the throne for 60 years - I can't imagine doing anything for 60 years, let alone be queen!!!! I can sort of imagine being an actress for 60 years, but I'd be super old .... I can't even imagine being 30 and that's really quite old!! If I was queen I think I would wear the crown all the time because wouldn't it be amazing to have a real crown!!! I wouldn't put it in a cupboard (or a safe ... I guess it gets locked away at the tower of London) and the cost-per-wear would really come down, because that crown doesn't get worn very often really, even if you take into account all the other kings and queens that wore it. And the ball and stick thingy as well (they are called the orb and sceptre I think) - they should be used more often too (I wonder if the ball thing is actually a handbag?)
